BLACK CUMIN : Black cumin, or Nigella sativa, is an herb that has been used for centuries as a medicinal plant all around the globe. Various traditional medicine systems use this plant, including Unani, Tibb, Ayurvedic and Siddha. Various folklore systems have used nigella Sativa seed oil and seeds for medicine and food for a long time. Traditionally, black cumin oil is derived from seeds of Nigella Sativa, a plant in the Ranunculaceae family that comes from Asian origin. In addition to being referred to as black cumin, kalonji is also referred to as Nigella sativa, a flowering plant which belongs to the buttercup family.
