About eight crore farmers across India are benefiting from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan Yojana). However, a new threat has emerged as a fraudulent link claiming to be the mobile application of PM Kisan Yojana is being widely shared on social media. The police have issued an alert to farmers not to click on this link, as it can lead to cyber fraud.
The official website for the PM Kisan Yojana is https://pmkisan.gov.in, and the mobile application can be safely downloaded from the Google Play Store. The fraudulent activity has been reported in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, where villagers unknowingly shared the APK link of the mobile application on social media. Upon clicking the link, an application gets downloaded, hacking the phone and potentially causing financial loss to the farmers.
The police have advised against clicking on such links and sharing them on social media or WhatsApp. They emphasize the importance of using only the official website and verified sources for downloading applications related to government schemes. The increasing cases of cyber fraud in the country have heightened concerns, with cybercriminals exploiting government schemes to deceive people.
Farmers and the general public are urged to report any incidents of cyber fraud by calling the cyber helpline number 1930 or registering a complaint on the website cybercrime.gov.in. Stay vigilant and protect yourself from cyber threats by relying on official and trusted sources.
